Casual Dating

I just wanted to announce to one and all that I am officially a casual dater. I'm feeling pretty darn good about myself. :)
It's been a really fun first couple weeks of school. I am SO busy with school, but I am finding time to do the things that college girls are supposed to do: check out the boy population. :) Last week I had two dates and this week I got asked on three. (Unfortunately I can't go on one since it's the same time as another. Bummer when that happens huh?) One of the three boys has some potential. His name is Jacob and he wants to be a Pediatrician. He speaks Spanish, loves to play all kinds of sports (especially volleyball) and he really just has his priorities set. For example, we're going out tomorrow night and for our date we're making cookies together and then taking them over to people who need a little boost in their day. His idea totally! I think it's really sweet. He's kind of nerdy, a neuroscience major, but hey, those are the ones I tend to fall for. ha ha I really like meeting new people. It's been so fun! My ward is fantastic and there are lots of great people in it. I'm so excited! Life is just great.

I am official a Nursing Student!

Hey y'all!
It's been a great but crazy week. I can officially say that I am a BYU nursing student and I have now officially made it through my first week of school. :) Only 2 more years to go and I'll have my RN! It's all very exciting. I love my nursing class. I only have one this semester since it took me so long to get in and I already took all the other classes they wanted me to take this semester. :) My instructor's are fantastic. They are all very nice and funny and friendly and just a joy to sit and listen to. I had a 2 and 1/2 hour class this morning and it FLEW by! Literally. I looked at the clock and couldn't believe it was over. I just loved it that much. We haven't done any exciting things yet...just learning how to do vital signs which I've been doing for 3 years with all my CNA work. I've gotten to read A LOT (over 50 pages) in my textbook about vital signs though and it was really really interesting. Cool pictures and cool explanations which I'm totally going to observe and try at work on Saturday when I take all those peoples vitals! So fun!!
I went to a new student orientation dinner on Wednesday. I had tears in my eyes the entire time. We talked about how we are beginning our journey to Learn the Healer's Art. That's what BYU's program attempts to do, to teach nurses how to be as Christ, to heal and help with our minds, hearts and hands, just as He did while during His ministry. What a special opportunity it is for me to be in this program.
Thanks to everyone who supported me through my years of highschool and my preparation for this program. It truly is a dream come true.
